As Carlos Santana evolves musically and spiritually -- for the time being the two paths seem
to be one -- he chooses his associates more carefully. The demands of the music he

Old Santana fans beware. Ad copy to the contrary, the only Latin roots here flowered in Brazil long 'round '66. Airto Moreira isn't Sergio Mendes, I admit, but Leon Patillo isn't Leon Thomas either. (Grade: C+)
