7000 Dying Rats

This 1998 tour de force of inanity marked the Chicago comedy-grind act's first actual album, even though they'd been at it since 1992. Thirty-five tracks ranging from 10 seconds to one minute are followed by forty-four tracks of mostly silence (one is a TV broadcast of an unruly crowd going bonkers at a hockey game), bringing the grand total to a nice round 99. Such excellent titles as "And Then The Girl Said, 'Why Would You Want To Be In A Band That Didn't Have A'" and "Rhythm Is a Dancer," live show stage banter and possibly real radio spots round out this fully conceived act of terrorism.
