Though most songs on Absolute Value are unfocused litanies of punchlines that target weak rappers ("nobody got sh*t to rap about"), the ruling political elite ("they put us on the frontline to lessen our birthrate") and rap critics (who "can eat a fat d*ck"), but he does manage to project a certain blue-collar everyman persona in songs such as "Be Prepared" and "Rain" that will remind some listeners of Chi-Town emcees such as Rhymefest. The highlight of this album may be J Dilla's production work on the dizzying "Put Ya Stamp on It" featuring Talib Kweli.
