Some of the best things happen by accident. For Like Red on a Rose, Alan Jackson approached string band diva Alison Krauss, hoping to have her help him make a traditional bluegrass album. But Krauss knew that Jackson's real knack is for the love song, so she produced this album of beautiful, reflective, romantic songs tinged with touches of roadhouse twang ("Good Imitation of the Blues") and sweeping string arrangements orchestrated by Krauss. Throughout the album, Jackson's vocals are accompanied by Lee Ann Womack, Cheryl White, Sidney and Suzanne Cox and Krauss.
