The first DJ to play at the Blue Note, multi-instrumentalist Jason Kibler, aka DJ Logic, straddles the worlds of jazz and hip-hop with ease. His third solo release, Zen of Logic, showcases this ability particularly well, especially on "9th Ward Blues," which starts off as a sweet jazzy groove, then changes gears, seamlessly mutating into edgy hip-hop, and blending the two strands into a new genre hybrid.
