Released: May 1987
Label: Sire/Warner Bros.
By 1987 Vince Clarke was ready to let Andy Bell take over the libretto, resulting in this second release having a more provocative and camp agenda, while retaining Clarke's hi-NRG synth pop songwriting. Two tracks in particular stand out: "Victim of Love" and "Sometimes," both of which capture Erasure's essence, are seemingly effortless pop classics, passionately delivered with happy yet melancholy flair.
