You don't have to believe in a higher power to find yourself awed by the Soweto Gospel Choir. This music sticks a spoon in your soul and stirs, and the result can be truly transformative, particularly when they sing songs like "Shewane" or cover Peter Gabriel's "Biko." They're equally impressive on Christian hymns like "A Place In Heaven," but those compositions don't do justice to their capacity for multirhythmic, polyphonic mayhem.
