Double Rainbow: The Music Of Antonio Carlos Jobim
Released: Nov 1994
The tenor titan weaves his own magic on a selection of Antonio Carlos Jobim's less frequently recorded songs. Henderson plays as sensitively and creatively as ever (just listen to his feathery tone on "Zingaro" and "Happy Madness"), while splitting a Brazillian session (with Eliane Elias and Oscar Castro-Neves) with one led by Herbie Hancock. Perhaps the fact that Jobim died before he could make this scheduled LP with Henderson made the saxophonist highlight the sadness in some of the cuts even further.
