Babs entered the 1970s as a superstar, but with soft rock replacing vocal pop in the charts, she slapped on a frock, jumped in the back of a pickup and went for a relaxed L.A. sound. Instead of appearing forced, Stoney works very smoothly, with Streisand coming across as downright soulful on Delaney & Bonnie's "Free the People" and Randy Newman's "I'll Be Home."
