Although the chic production of A Fine Frenzy's debut makes it an inevitable commercial rainmaker, hearing Alison Sudol in this spartan environment -- mostly acoustic piano with little else -- is, in some ways, more gratifying. With its laconic drum shuffle, "Come On, Come Out" is a distinct departure from the released LP version, though the intimate setting of "Rangers," which Sudol delivers in a half-whisper, is also chilling.
