Sawdust by The Killers
Released: Nov 2007
Label:
Sawdust is a collection of stragglers that didn't make the Killers' second album, Sam's Town. Featuring 12 new songs, as well as a Jacques Lu Cont remix of "Mr. Brightside" and live version of "Sam's Town," it proves the Vegas group is prolific. But it's the covers that work best here: versions of Joy Division's "Shadowplay," Kenny Rogers' "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town" and Dire Straits' "Romeo And Juliet" serve to illustrate why the rest of these tunes are merely cut-outs.
