Fans of Gang Gang Dance or Animal Collective will find a lot to like here. Sparse, squiggly guitar lines add ornamentation, but it's really all about the interlocking vocals and insistent drumming. Patterns are repeated, then repeated, then repeated again on tracks like "Mom Dance," and it's arguably either hypnotic or snoozy, depending on one's taste and patience. "Is He Hansome" starts out like a breathy hymn before building into an atmospheric vocal experiment that wouldn't be out of place on Sung Tongs. This is solid, tribal-inflected indie rock that wears its influences well.
