Jagged Edge
Jagged Edge
Released:
May 2006
Label:
Sony Urban Music/Columbia
As their name suggests, Jagged Edge have never been the smoothest of vocal groups, trading the soaring harmonies of Boyz II Men for the washed-out, pseudo gangsta poses of neo-R&B, but the vocals on Jagged Edge are even more strained than before. Of course, that isn't to say that they don't occasionally connect. They collaborate with Jermane Dupri -- Mariah's Midas man on Emancipation -- for the infectious "Get a Lil' Bit of This," and tracks such as "Good Luck Charm" and "Ghetto Guitar" may be drenched in lover boy schmaltz, but they're also more catchy than a pop fly.
