Released: Jan 1985
Label: Rhino/Warner Bros.
Released a year after The Last In Line made Dio a household name (albeit in homes where the parents were a little worried about their heavy metal-loving, devil horns-tossing 13-year-old longhair), Sacred Heart features "Rock 'N' Roll Children" and "Hungry For Heaven" and is the band's last album with '80s metal guitar badass Vivian Campbell, who went on to Def Leppard. As one might expect, Ronnie James Dio sings like he's 10 feet tall, and there are many lyrics about swordplay, dragons ... you get the idea. The title cut could have been on Sabbath's Heaven And Hell.
