This Banda el Recodo offshoot always had a major pedigree to live up to. So they did what anyone under serious expectations would: They got "very drunk," as the title of this album says. Guess what? They wound up with a crossover smash and their first No. 1 single. And while that song (the rip-roaring title track) demonstrates the group's traditional chops, much of the rest of this electrifying album sounds like a drunken tear through banda's tropes that shreds them up with vibrant bits of pop, rock, salsa and more.
