Singer-songwriter John Ondrasik (aka Five for Fighting) is a slippery fella to try to pin down. As with his previous releases, Slice could be considered both piano rock and mainstream country pop. Basically, the guy is Chris Martin meets Brad Paisley, with a dash of Marc "Walking in Memphis" Cohn thrown in for good measure. It's an odd combination on paper, but Ondrasik really makes it works, crafting radio-friendly tunes that are perfect for long drives across the heartland -- or London.
