Marc Bolan continued to perfect the glam rock sound he basically invented (along with Bowie and some cross-dressing meatheads in New York) with this seventh album, furthering the widespread fame and chart success Electric Warrior brought him and his band a year earlier. "Metal Guru" and "Telegram Sam" are the hits, but his Jimmy Page-level obsession with making sure every guitar sounds totally, awesomely cool is all over the record. The title cut -- one of the many perfect moments on here -- is Les Paul-fat and slithers the way a song called "The Slider" should.
