On his first solo effort in 25 years, Ronnie Dunn wrote or co-wrote the lion's share of these 12 tracks, and was already finished when a friend emailed him the striking "Bleed Red," which only scratches the surface. The weighty "Cost of Livin'" is a stunning "state of the economy" song, sung from the point of view of a returning soldier in a job interview. On the lighter side are the mariachi-and-margarita-fueled "How Far to Waco" and the rockin' "Singer in a Cowboy Band." There are so many highlights on Ronnie Dunn, it sure sounds as though his next chapter of hits is just beginning.
