Not only is Fly From Here Yes' first studio album since 2001's Magnification, it's the first to feature Benoit David, a Canadian musician who previously fronted a Yes tribute band. He's a decent singer, one who is more or less mimicking his predecessor, the great Jon Anderson. Despite significant upheaval in personnel, the Trevor Horn-produced album is a slice of vintage progressive rock. Piercing the 25-minute mark, the title track is an epic. The band hits a peak in the third movement, "Madman at the Screens," a punchy number built with architectonic harmonies and sudden shifts in tempo.
