Behind The Parade

Behind The Parade by Tommy Keene
Released: Aug 2011
Label: Second Motion
When it comes to durable and consistent tunesmiths toiling away in the power-pop ghetto, Tommy Keene lives on the same block as The Velvet Crush, Matthew Sweet and The Smithereens. Behind the Parade sounds a lot like most of the albums Keene has dropped since the early 1980s. The 10-track collection is a strong mix of jangly guitars, tight harmonies, smart songs, delicious melancholy and unbridled Anglophilia. What's truly amazing is how, after all these years, Keene still feels a need to sing with a faux British accent, as if he's the fifth Beatle. The dude is from Maryland, after all.
