By rights, this album shouldn't have happened. A bunch of German classical musicians meet some Cubans and record an album of Cuban-ified Beethoven, Brahms, etc.? That's just wrong. But when you get past the novelty value, the playing is wickedly good and the translations bring these old masters back to life -- even on "Mambozart," which is exactly what it sounds like.
