The Prophet (Explicit)
Lewis Black
Released:

Label:
Comedy Central
A 1991 set recorded years before Lewis Black achieved household name status, The Prophet offers a glimpse at his trademark politically charged diatribe style in its formative stages. Amid the pointed lefty commentary, Black delivers hilarious observations on American life in his trademark barely controlled rage-yell. Seemingly directly descended from the button-pushing aggression of Bill Hicks, Black comes off as slightly less bitter but almost as brilliant as that seminal comic.
