Released: Feb 2012
Label: Stones Throw Records
You'd think that the reservoir of undiscovered early '80s synth-pop would have dried up by now -- at least the bits that are actually worth listening to. But the Minimal Wave label's Veronica Vasicka and Stones Throw's Peanut Butter Wolf have turned up enough throbbing, warbling robo-pop for a second installment of their Minimal Wave Tapes series. Resolutely analog, suffused in tape hiss and Cold War gloom, it's a throwback vibe that sounds incredibly current, given the climate of cassette decks, '80s comebacks and retro-proto-electro.
