The Fatal Feast
Released: Apr 2012
Label: Nuclear Blast
The salad days of Anthrax and Suicidal Tendencies are kept alive with Municipal Waste's fifth album, with the band's characteristic tongue-in-cheek sense of humor firmly in place. Often called "crossover thrash," Municipal Waste traffic in hardcore, punk-heavy metal; at their best they sound like Slayer ("Dead Masters" and the homage/parody "Idiot Check"), except they're singing about getting shut-off by bartenders instead of Josef Mengele. They may be joking a lot, but these riffs are for real -- they consistently hit break-neck speeds and deliver awesome moshes.
