Released in 1976 with some of rock's funniest liner notes ever, these prog-glam tricksters' tied-for-highest-charting '70s LP is mainly genre parodies, from Phil Spector to jazz. "Pimp" is one of the world's first gangsta raps, blaxploitation funk with rude spoken words actually partly rhymed rap-style. "Don't Touch Me There" is a missing link between Rocky Horror and "Paradise by the Dashboard Light"; "Slipped My Disco" a prescient disco spoof; "Proud to Be an American" a fast-talked Elvis piss-take and "bicentennial salute." And "Madam I'm Adam" gives Steely Dan changes a palindromic title.
