In retrospect, it's surprising that Tujiko Noriko and Nobukazu Takemura haven't collaborated before this. Naivete is at the heart of both musicians' work, expressed in childlike melodies -- Takemura even has a project called Child's View -- and humble sonics that accentuate the musicality of everyday life. Here, Noriko's multi-tracked singing provides a wispy melodic through-line, slouching like beams of afternoon sunlight through a quiet jumble of guitars, horns, accordion, glitchy synthesizers and incidental rustle.
