Brand New Man
Released: Jan 1991
Label: Arista Nashville
The title cut on this debut from the lauded country duo was the first of 20 songs they'd send to the No.1 spot over the course of their career, and also the first of four consecutive No. 1 hits from the album itself. But it's the shuffling honky-tonk of "Boot Scootin' Boogie" that was a sensation across the U.S. and earned Brooks & Dunn the name recognition they enjoy today. As for the other smash hits, "Neon Moon" is a new-country ballad with an island-friendly bump and "My Next Broken Heart" is the most Buck Owens-like song this side of Buck Owens and proof-positive that these guys are pros.
