Good covers take a song someplace surprising, exciting, and yet familiar, as if the tune has been there before and feels comfortable in its new digs. Six Degrees, which specializes in these kinds of covers, have compiled an anniversary collection of their best remix auteurs: RaRa Avis coaxes "If 6 Was 9" into a sleek, chic, modish lounge, while Ojos de Brujo take Marley out to dinner at an outdoor cafe in Madrid. And in MIDIval PunditZ's hands, "Four Sticks" sounds epic and huge, like a battle scene in a wire-fu film -- or like a Zeppelin song's dreams in the days before digital sampling.
