Reviews
More than just a collection of B-sides and outtakes, the songs here seem conceptually intertwined. Madlib's "Take it Back" is the sort of lo-fi hip-hop psychedelia that has become synonymous with the producer. Koushik's "None in Mind" sounds like fuzzy electro created by stoned angels, while J Dilla's "Nothing Like This" is laced with celestial bagpipes that provide a whiff of effervescence. Madvillain's contribution "Monkey Suite" is a post-alien occupation rap -- a combination of William Carlos Williams, Philip Dick and George Clinton.
