Will Farrell's ingenious performance basically channeling the average six-year-old has made Elf one of the few modern Christmas classics. Like the movie itself, the fun retro soundtrack definitely has a long shelf life. It's hard to go wrong with holiday stalwarts by Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Prima, Lena Horne along with a few modern tracks by the likes of Brian Seltzer. Director Jon Favreau obviously has affection for the music played on New York City's once beloved WNEW -- he also wrote and starred in the movie Swingers, which featured a soundtrack of a similar vintage.
