Highlights include the Postal Service burying Nina Simone in retro blip-bloop synth washes; Sugardaddy's 1980s/Art of Noise-style reworking of Shirley Horn's "Come Dance With Me"; and the Brazilian Girls introducing Blossom Dearie to the words "high BPM." Far more electronic and far less jazzy than the previous installments of Verve Remixed, this
disc takes major liberties with tracks from Verve Records' vintage jazz catalog. Postal
Service and Danger Mouse get wild on Nina Simone and Dinah Washington tracks until
they're nearly unrecognizable, and Bent cut the tempo and pump up the existential
melancholy of Billie Holiday's "Speak Low."
