Rhapsody

This album collects Alexandra Gardner's cyberpunk compositions for solo acoustic instruments and prepared electronics. Luminoso is most stunning in its six minutes of minimalist flamenco guitar patterns that fall while waves of electronic sound pass by. A weird alien-meets-Bladerunner vibe pervades on "Tourmaline," a sound-light duet of saxophone and pulsating orbs played with gusto by Brian Sacawa.
