Ali Farka Toure

This marvelous album grew out of what was supposed to be simply a guest appearance by Diabate on Toure's latest album. The session went so well that the two decided to try an album of duets and they ended up improvising their way through classic Malian songs (and a few Toure originals) in just two three-hour recording sessions in Hotel Bamako with no rehearsals.
