Description of Noise Rock

Noise Rock is one of the more extreme subsets of alternative music, one best suited to those who enjoy abrasive guitar delivered amidst shards of feedback and electronic walls of noise. Noise Rock runs the gamut from the industrial strength distortion of Steve Albini's original Chicago band Big Black, to the incisive anti-pop of the Cows. Noise Rock views any semblance of melody as the enemy and aims to sledgehammer the listener with bombastic sounds and little else.
