Anthony Red Rose

About

It's difficult to determine whether Anthony Red Rose has been more influential as a singer or as a producer. He burst onto the Dancehall scene in the mid-1980s with "Tempo," which featured a raggedy, King Tubby-esque rhythm. Later on, he came out with cultural smashes such as "Positive Fighter." His voice is smooth and pure, riding over tough Ragga-fied beats and laid-back, Roots-styled Reggae. These days he spends much of his time working with other artists through his own two recording labels (How Yu Fi Sey Dat? and Raggedy Joe), producing fresh Dancehall tracks with top-level performers such as Bounty Killer, Luciano, Beres Hammond.
