Rhapsody

Arthur Prysock was busy racking up R&B hits in the late 1950s and early '60s but his heart was always with jazz. So, Prysock joined Verve Records in order to cut LPs just like this one. Prysock's dreamy baritone (close to, but lighter -- and more soulful - than Billy Eckstine's) finds diamond-studded backing with Basie & Co on a set of ballads, swing and uptown blues.
