The fourth album overall for the Tennessee alt-metal quintet, Division is steeped in the earnestness that marks the bulk of their material. Lead single "Beautiful" sketches disillusionment in today's ultra-synthetic culture and its obsession with "perfection." The questioningly P.O.'d vocals, courtesy of singer Jesse Hasek, recall the band's first single, "Wasteland," which spent 12 months on the charts back in 2005 and 2006. That song is nicely bookended by "Just Can't Win" and "11:00am (Daydreamer)," a pair of equally strong, depressed cuts. Not to be played at parties.
