1.8.7.'s danceable yet innovative tracks represent a wide cross-section of Drum 'n' Bass. One moment she's laying down lethal hard-step basslines, scratchy hip-hop samples, and adrenaline-fueled buildups topped with booming-voice Ragga toasting. Then she's crafting deep, spacious tracks full of atmospheric washes, gently rolling breakbeats, and watery, dubby bass. Jazz guitar licks, soulful harmonies, crooning Moog riffs, and sinuous basslines swirl atop hard-edged grooves, while other tracks are pure nastiness, full of snarling basslines, tense, droning keyboards, and lethal breakbeats. One of the few female Drum 'n' Bass producers, her tracks are among the roughest, smoothest, hardest, and deepest.
