It's hard to nail down a band that jumps from garage rock to doo-wop to indie pop to post-punk, but such is the charm of the 1990s. They channel the sleaze of Eagles of Death Metal ("Vondelpark," "Kickstrasse") as swiftly as the melodrama of the Cure ("Local Science") and the frisky pop of Cake ("Everybody Please Relax"). While their focus may be scarce, it's easy to get lured in to their unassuming "oh-oh-oh's" and "na-na-na's," their sugarcoated sarcasm ("I'm moving to Hollywood/ I'll be a Scientologist by June") and their overall ability to tackle so many sounds in under an hour.
