213

Biography

The quintessential G-Funk super group, 213 first came together in the early 1990s, performing at house parties around Long Beach, Calif. Comprising Snoop Dogg, Warren G and Nate Dogg, 213 put out early demo tapes that caught the attention of Dr. Dre (Warren's half-brother), who enlisted the team to co-star on his own album The Chronic. And the rest is history. All three of them blew up and became platinum-selling superstars as solo artists, and for years they teased fans with talk of a group album. In August 2004, it finally came to fruition: The Hard Way was an excellent collection of smoothed-out, summertime funk.
