We don't know how they did it, but these veteran Brazilian rockers (Nacao Zumbi, Instituto) got a whole bunch of velvety-voiced brasileiras to throw down on this album, and it makes for one subtropical treat after another. The vintage keyboards and dub rhythms underpin singers and actresses as they explore in graphic (Portuguese) detail fictitious sexual encounters. It's an odd project, conceived of as a soundtrack to Italian artist Milo Manara's erotic comic books, and while it does have a slightly cartoonish edge to it, the intimacy of a song like "Pecadora" makes it all work.
