Uplifter by 311
Released: Jun 2009
After a four-year hiatus, 311 return with album No. 9, produced by Bob Rock. With a blend of reggae, funk and alterna-rock, the band's high energy and mystical rap-rock hasn't changed much from their early '90s breakthrough sound. Lyrically, Uplifter is true to its name, and would likely make Tony Robbins' daily affirmation checklist. "Never Ending Summer" and "Jackpot" bring back the perfect hip-hop-reggae-rock prescription that made "Down" a hit in 1996.
