Honeyboy Edwards

Honeyboy Edwards

Biography

Born in Mississippi in 1915, it took David "Honeyboy" Edwards the better part of 55 years to achieve any real success. His playing stands as a link between the rural blues of the Delta and Muddy Waters' modern Chicago Blues. Although he recorded in the 1950s for various independent labels, he got a big break recording with Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac at Chess Studios in 1969. His gruff voice and raw guitar enlivened their recordings and earned him a name on the international blues circuit.
