Biography

Hailing from Peoria, Arizona, A Change of Pace were signed while its member's mean age was 17. When most kids are getting ready for the prom, worrying about SAT tests or what college to apply to, these guys released their debut album, An Offer You Can't Refuse. Singer/guitarist Torry Jasper met drummer Jonathan Kelly in freshman English, and it didn't take long before the two of them decided to get together and jam but it wasn't exactly a smooth road. As Jonathan says, "It takes some time to get used to Torry." But the duo continued writing and eventually built up the courage to play some gigs in their hometown. The shows went well, but both admit that things only really gelled for the band when Johnny Abdullah (bass) and Adam Rogers (lead vocals/guitar) joined some months later. The outfit recorded a handful of songs and put them up on MP3.com, where an A&R executive from Immortal heard their music. Within months the band was signed and recording in Las Vegas with producer Michael Baskette. Released in 2005, An Offer You Can't Refuse chronicled Jasper's tumultuous time in high school with 11 angst-filled, poppy emo gems.
