All Balls Don't Bounce Revisited
Aceyalone
Released:
Jan 2004
Label:
Project Blowed / Decon
By the time of his 1995 solo debut, Freestyle Fellowship’s Aceyalone had honed his winding version of hip-hop jabberwocky into storytelling jewels. Unfortunately, too many fans ignored this masterful release, despite standout tracks like “Makeba,” “The Greatest Show on Earth,” “Deep & Wide” and dense, jazzy production by Fat Jack and Mumbles. Aceyalone is the genre’s Jeff Beck, a master MC with an indelible style and a deep catalog ripe for discovery, even if mainstream audiences will probably never seize that opportunity.
