The idea of underground veteran emcee Aceyalone making a dancehall album looks great on paper. The former Freestyle Fellowship member has one of the quickest and most nimble flows in hip-hop history, and he has flirted with reggae throughout his career. But the production here is too clean (the best dancehall always teeters on the verge of chaos) and Acey's voice isn't gruff or forceful enough. Still, it's good to see this two-decade veteran experimenting, and there are a few great tracks ("Suicide," "Easy," "Shango").
