Total Clarity is a collection of demos and outtakes committed to tape during the sessions for 2005's Searching for a Former Clarity, generally considered to be Against Me!'s "introspective" album. A handful of tracks are alternative versions, among them "Miami," "Unprotected Sex with Multiple Partners," "Holy Sh*t!" and "The Energizer." Because these songs are rough sketches rather than polished recordings, they feel stripped down and sparse. Though Total Clarity offers a peek inside Against Me!'s methodical creative process, it is mandatory listening for only the most hardcore of fans.
