Wednesday Night In San Francisco
by Albert King
Released: Jan 1990
These live recordings are outtakes from King's 1968 album Live Wire, recorded at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco. King opens with a nod to Herbie Hancock vamping "Watermelon Man," then ripping into a set of songs marked by the exuberant, unthinkably expressive solos that were a major influence on generations of both blues and blues-rock guitarists.
