You couldn't ask for a better slice of romantic Latin pop. Fernandez is in fine voice, and he's got some crack songwriters, including Sin Bandera and Reyli Barba, penning the tunes. When the strings and syrup threaten to drown a song ("Tanto Amar," we're talking about you), Fernandez's intimate vocal style still rescues them, and even "Eres," a watered-down Juanes sound-alike hit single, fares pretty well. And Beyonce gets all bilingual (kind of impressively so) on the flamenco-flavored "Amor Gitano." Still, beware: this isn't for the hard-hearted, dry-eyed types.
