Biography

Amanda Jones is another band on Bomp! who took their name from a Rolling Stones song. But unlike many of the 1960s obsessed Garage bands on Greg Shaw's roster, this band is more rooted in the brash sounds of early New Wave and Los Angeles Punk. In fact, the members of this female-fronted quartet are composed of now defunct West Coast Punk acts such as the Lame Flames, the Jones, and Skulls. Amanda Jones' music is catchier than a fishing net and more poppy than a sheet of bubble wrap packaging. They conjure up ghosts of early Blondie and the Ramones while managing to infuse a relevant dosage of Punk-Pop. The singer's voice is slightly seductive and effortlessly cool.
